SHOULDNT THE DD GO TO NATURE ITSELF? I MEAN,  THE SCENE IS JUST AS BEUTIFUL WITHOUT YOU TAKING PICTURES OF IT. SO WHAT EXACTLY DID YOU *DO*. SEEMS LIKE YOU JUST POINTED A VERY EXPENSIVE CAMERA

Nature doesn't make waterfalls look smooth like that. So, obviously he had to know how to use that "very expensive camera" to produce a long exposure shot.

Do you say asinine comments like this to all nature photography, or did you just single this one out?

what? so he popped open the software and hacked it so that it would allow him to do this? he got a degree in engineering and built a mechanism to control shutter speed?
no.
Its a fucking option right on the damn camera.

Go ahead and keep this up. Only makes you look jealous and immature. It's obvious that you have absolutely no understanding of photography. The camera doesn't set up the shot, adjust the settings and wait for the perfect moment to get just the right shot all on its own. You know why? It is a machine!

With your beliefs deviantART should feature DD's, which are 100% a simple feature and are absolutely not an award, to inanimate objects such as a paint brush, paints and a palette for any outstanding oil painting that is to be featured. Or, maybe the Prismacolor pencils and markers should be given a DD for every anime drawing submitted to dA? And what about that keyboard driven web browser you promote in your gallery? The application it was programmed in did all the work, not the developer, right? After all, many web and software development apps auto-fill code nowadays. Sounds ridiculous, right? But I'm sure you'll think that is completely different than a superb photo taken by a camera. Because obviously that camera drove itself to that spot, put itself on a tripod and adjusted all it's settings with an artistic eye all on its little lonesome!

It's very obvious that no matter what anyone says or does to show you that a camera is simply a tool to create art, just like a pencil or paintbrush, the camera obviously is the one who deserves recognition. Not the human behind the machine.

So sorry Ansel Adams, your camera took your stunning photos and deserves all credit. You were just the bloke who pushed the shutter button.

Shouldn't the DD go to the person who went out of their way to find this spectacular place in nature and capture its awe inspiring beauty so they could share it with the rest of the people in the world who will probably never be able to see this amazing place for themselves?

My mistake, you wrote "Southern" - The state right next to Victoria is just called South Australia :P
Then I noticed the wiki link said it on the first line anyway haha
